Since August, the Fundraising Committee has been running banner & landing page tests. These have evolved from weekly Thursday afternoon tests, which helped us get all of our systems in order and determined which messages would best motivate our donors before the launch of the fundraiser - to almost daily tests introducing new banners and landing pages as we continue to tweak our current campaign.

I hope you gained some insight from our series of behind the scenes articles. Please try to roll in A/B testing into your schedule! If you work in an internal Design Department then this is a no brainer. It’d be interesting to see Interactive Agencies add testing to the design process. We’re still testing too. You may not notice such drastic changes to the Highrise site anymore, but trust me we’re tweaking and measuring behind the scenes. We’ll also be applying some of these findings to future marketing efforts. However, as Jason says, we will always test, improve, and learn. I want to be the first to come up with a design that beats our Person Page. Thanks for reading!

Human photos on a website definitely have positive impact on visitor’s first impression of trustworthiness Human photos with focus on face have much better impact (as emotional connect is stronger) Photos should be “real”. Visitors can tell when you are using stock photos Most important conclusion: human photos are not panacea for all websites. Best is to A/B test photos v/s no photos on your website. Many research papers proved that in some cases, human photos may actually have a negative impact!

But people tend to have a self-complete content on each webpage when they arrive at there from search engines. For them, the governance or totality of website is not their interest at all.
Consider these common project scenarios: a website redesign, a web application, or an email or social media campaign. We keep hitting brick walls because the organization has problems with strategy, governance, execution, or measurement. We know that the project won’t achieve its objectives, because we’re working on the wrong horizon of focus. To fix this problem, we need to start talking about web governance.

While many desk-shackled students may wish they were napping rather than enduring yet another monotonous lecture, learning is by no means confined within the classroom. In fact, we engage in focused learning activities every day. Think of the last time you ordered a book, booked a flight, or bought a car. How did you choose which book to read, where to go for vacation, or which car was best for you? You may have searched online, read reviews, or asked others for advice to help you make an informed decision. In a word, you learned. Learning is a complex process with distinct stages, each with corresponding tasks and emotions. Understanding how users learn can help us design experiences that support the user throughout the entire process. So let’s learn a thing or two about learning itself.

This is androidpatterns.com, a set of interaction patterns that can help you design Android apps. An interaction pattern is a short hand summary of a design solution that has proven to work more than once. Please be inspired: use them as a guide, not as a law.
